Volker Schlenker, Managing Director

Volker has more than 15 years of experience of solution selling in the data center area as well as a successful track record of introducing new technologies and solutions in the market space. Focus is the holisitic development and execution of your expansion into the European market.

While still a university student in Mannheim and Paris, Volker Schlenker had been actively involved in qualitative market research [Impulse] and telemarketing – a fairly recent field of expertise at that time. Before he took over the SAP training department at Compunet in 1998, he already established two successful medium-sized call centers.

Since mid-2000, Volker specializes in successful market introductions. He first started within the IBM environment as an Evangelist at Magirus for storage networks and company-wide data backup solutions. Later on, he verged into the emerging markets of Enterprise Content Management and Business Intelligence.

At Avnet Technology Solutions, Volker Schlenker concentrated on young and aggressive vendors with innovative and complementary products and got particularly interested in open source based business models. During this time, he focused on Ericom Software as well as Virtual Iron. He succeeded in introducing Virtual Iron, an open source virtualization platform for medium-sized businesses, to the Central European market – despite challenging conditions and a low budget. Virtual Iron was later purchased by Oracle.

Volker holds a Diplomkaufmann degree (Master of Science in Business Administration) from  Mannheim University.

In February 2009, Volker Schlenker founded bridge2eu.
